I hope you’re having a wonderful 2016 so far. It’s lovely to see the site so active and see you all as dedicated (or simply having too much free time on your hands!) as ever! Thank you for keeping the site hustling and providing those interested in the asian entertainment industry with a lovely place to discuss their faves or find new things!

As OH’s owner, I’ve always wished for our site to be the best forum for discussing the asian entertainment industry. With this wish in mind, I feel it important to inform you all I have decided to step down. This is not because of a change in wishes for OH, but instead because I believe the site has outgrown me, and I would like to place the community in hands I know can take good care of it.

Please welcome (and be sweethearts for) OneHallyu’s new owner - Sadface! I really believe Sadface will be able to do great things with you all! He truly loves and cares for this site - despite what his sad face might suggest. I am very happy to pass the site onto him, and confident this will be a great step in helping OH’s community.

“But Shik!?” I hear you cry. “We want to still talk to you. We love you!”

That’s ok! I don’t want to say goodbye to you all forever either. Whilst I will likely be inactive on OneHallyu following the end of this month, I will still lurk and check up on you. My twitter will always be available for you to message to.

Thank you, OneHallyu! I really am sad saying goodbye. I wish you all the best for the future. You are shady, mean, sweet, beautiful people and I am incredibly grateful for the time I got to spend watching over you.

There were a bunch of messy drama today that somewhat went out of hand. I'm a bit late to the situation, however, I think there are still a bunch of things that I want to address you all with.

Firstly, regarding the mess about the inappropriate comments regarding young/underage idols. The moderating team is finalizing the rule on that, and it will be up very soon, so we can address the comments and punish them accordingly. Sorry for the lateness in our part, we will be sure to try to take care of it soon. More details about it will be mentioned soon.

Secondly, for all the people making those comments. I'd assume that you write them`for the lulz`, and mean to rile up people, getting all those sweet attention. I'd like you to know that there are better ways for you to do your trolling, as freedom of speech also means you also have to take responsibility for the thing you say. Those are the things that will be traced back to you in the future; I can't tell how, but it's always a possibility. While you may think "haha i'm making so many people mad i'm so cool and edgy", please spare a thought for your own future and mind your own words, unless you want to appear on a list somewhere.

Thirdly, for all the people are raging at the moderating team, calling the mods all the names and insults, I'd like you to rethink about it. If you are unhappy with how things are, I think it's much better to come with us with constructive criticism, and actively help out with reporting, suggestions and everything else to help the team do the work better. I can't fathom how some would think calling the moderating team with all those insults would make anything better. All the mods volunteer for this, with all their good intention to help out to keep the forum well-maintained and organized, and what they earn back are anger and hatred from the users, how ironic is that. I can't believe that I actually saw someone mentioning the moderating team is supporting pedophilia... seriously I have no words for it. For all I know, if you want a better forum experience, you can do your simple part to help the moderating team holding the community up, and treat them like a human being. Please, just do it.

P/S: maybe someone wanna ask about the PM. No, we wouldn't look into all your PMs, it's a part of human privacy we should respect. But by all means, if you are being troubled/harassed through PM you can always report and add us in on your own accord, and we can tackle the problem from there.

Finally, after a long wait, we've decided to reinstate the inappropriate language rule in order to encompass the recent complaints about sexualizing underage idols. The full rule is listed below and can also be viewed in our Rule book between trolling and offensive language.

First of all, I'd like y'all to meet WOHnda here ^. Wohnda is the latest addition to our fellow OH mascots: Ohbi, Ohla. Wohnda was born due to the creation of 'WOH!' aka Weekly OneHallyu! 

Voiced by a mysterious person who goes by the alias 'Wohnda', Weekly OneHallyu is a media feature that will cover the top 5 most discussed topics on the forum for a respective week.

Without further ado, here is the first WOH! 

To be very honest, WOH! was created out of our desire to do something creative and different for OH and so we're lacking in lots of ways! Therefore, we'd love to hear your guys comments and tips on how we can improve ^^ Let us know if this is something y'all like to see often, if not, give us ideas and suggestions so we can produce lots of cool things for OneHallyu~

Today I bring you the sad news that MomoMoon115 will no longer be our “Guardian Cat” admin. It has been more than 2 years since I became a moderator here and she was there in my beginnings, helping me out and guiding me, telling me when I did something wrong, etc. 2^nd Gen mods and up can attest to Momo’s guidance and hardworking attitude.

Momo had been part of this community since 6Theory, way before I and many others joined, and has done her best for us to this point. From a Moderator to Head Moderator, and then Admin, she rose to the top without ever neglecting her duties, and going the extra mile.

Filling her shoes will be difficult.

Let us all thank Momo for her contributions and time for OH and wish her the best!

Today on this day, sx21 created the Awards Team.  It has been 2 years since we’ve existed.  Some members have changed, some have been with the team since the beginning and I want to take the time to say thank you to them all.

Thank you guys for taking the time EVERY DAY to give/rearrange/remove badges, as well as provide users with help when needed.  It takes a large amount of commitment, and bless you guys for taking it on.

Yen, our pink lover! You've helped with the creation of the Voting Collage Thread (have and continue to make some collages yourself!), provided users with tutorials on how to make badges without Photoshop, as well as managed the Actor/Actress Voting Thread during Awards Season.  You've been with the team for two years and I can't say thank you enough!

What can I say about chill Gabe?  You bring something that the other members don’t have and that’s a male perspective. lol You’ve been with the team for two years.  Have done great work in managing the Purchasable Badge Thread every season.  Some may not know this part, but you’re always helping fellow team members out with their shifts.  When one of us can't give requests for a given time, you are often there to assist.

Thank you to Xiaoruru for being with the team for the past year.  Can you believe it?!  A whole year.  You’re such a kind soul and have done great work with your awards duties.  You've also created voting collages, can often be found helping out with OTP badges, have created the How To OP Voting Thread, and have thought up some wonderful new ideas.  Some I hope to share with the forum in the future.~

I also wanted to thank previous team members: akisame, JiyeonStripVid.mp3, soufflé girl., and I Was Pon This Wei.  In addition to fulfilling requests, assisting users, and running Awards Season, you guys helped manage custom requests, and created graphics for Awards events.  That showed how much you loved being a part of the team and I wanted to let you guys know how much I appreciated what you did and hope that all is going well for you guys.

To our newest members, Jinni, Delphine, and katt, thank you for joining us on this crazy ride and I hope you enjoy being on the team with us.  You guys are doing a wonderful job, and your enthusiasm for the team is the best!

Another shoutout to the sx21, sadface, and Mog.  sx21 and sadface were there with us since the very beginning and provided us with much needed guidance, seeing as how we were so new and unfamiliar with everything.  Mog for always giving much appreciated advice and proofing of thread content (I’m sure you want to fix the grammatical errors that I have filled this thread with).

Lastly, I want to say thank you to you guys, the users; ranging from those that participate in voting awards, help with mocks, to those that request.  The awards and marketplace keeps going for you guys, so thank you for being into them.

If this were an academy awards speech, I’m sure the music would’ve cued and all other thank yous that I probably would have said, escape my mind, so a big thanks to anyone else that I may have forgotten and keep being awesome.

OH!  One last thing I want to do is add.  The amount of “custom award forms” for sale will increase from 5, to 7 in honor of this being our 3rd year going. It won't take effect immediately, as in there are forms now available for purchase, but when the form restocks in the coming days, it will be 7 forms released instead of the used to be standard 5.  Thanks and keep on requesting!

We appreciate and allow user creativity in regard to locations, however, moderators reserve the right to edit or remove locations at their discretion if they feel this privilege is being abused, or is being used in a manner that hinders on other user's ability to use the forum comfortably. All forum rules still apply to locations, and a violation of the rules will result in a warning accordingly. If a user is unsure whether a  location they wish to use is appropriate or not, they are welcome to PM a moderator or post their inquiry in the ask a moderator thread for further clarification.

If this pertains to you I would suggest you change your location before we catch it. <3
